At my house every Sunday afternoon we have a tradition of eating a very heavy meal for lunch with each other then in evening eat just a salad and indulge in a drink. After few Sundays went by I started experimenting and thought of this lemon cinnamon based cocktail which I call Red twist.

Preparation time: 15 minute

Serves: 1

Ingredients:

90 ml     – Whisky (Johnnie walker – Red label)
30 ml     – Cinnamon syrup
1/2 tbsp – Lemon juice
ice as required.

Cinnamon syrup:

1 cup   – water
1 tbsp  – sugar
2           – cinnamon stick (3 inch)
4-5       – clove
3-4       – Lemon slice

Garnish:

ice cube
lemon slice
cinnamon stick (optional)
mint leave

Method:

In a pan pour water and turn on the flame. Add sugar and cinnamon stick. Keep stirring occasionally. When it is about to boil, add cloves and lemon slice. Let it boil for 5 min then turn off the flame. Let it come to room temperature. Strain the syrup and refrigerate it. Store for later use.
In a cocktail shaker, put few cubes of ice. Pour 90 ml whisky, 30 ml syrup and lemon juice mix well. In a whisky glass put few medium sized ice cube or 1 large ice cube. Arrange lemon slice around the ice.
Pour whisky-syrup mixture in glass. Pour 60-90 ml cold water to top it off. Put long cinnamon stick or a mint leave on top (optional) and serve.

Note:

The syrup is enough to make 4-5 glass of this cocktail. This is a strong drink as very less water goes in it.

Happy boozing! 🥃🍹🥂🥜
