Lets admit it we all love snacking, either when we are bored or hungry but not too hungry or just because we want to. I do, I love to snack as specially at night. As our snacking is more then our actual lunch or dinner on daily basis we are advised to snack on nuts or fruits or drink more water to suppress cravings.
I say why do that?
Naturally when we want to snack our mind comes up with variety of junk food. So to actually eat what we are craving and also stay healthy why not make junk food healthy. My mom has been making purple yam chips for me since I was a kid and it is still one of my favorite snack. It can also be use on side of burger or fish and chips or other dishes. Try it out
Cooking time: 10-15 min
Calories : 140 (per 100 g)
Ingredients:
1 – Yam (purple – big)
2 tbsp – Oil
Salt and pepper to taste.
Method:
Wash the yam properly. Peel it. If the mud has gotten on the inner layer then wash again. Cut it from middle then cut slices. Not too thin but not too thick (approx 1-2 mm). Dry it with tissue paper.
Take a non-stick pan. Put 1 tbsp oil. Let it heat. Put only as much yam to cover the pan plus some more. Cover and cook on medium to low flame for 5 min. Remove the lid sprinkle salt and granulated pepper (lightly crushed).

Mix well with a spatula. Close the lid. Mix occasionally. Do this until all the slices are light golden brown on both sides.
Repeat this for the rest of the slices.
Happy munching! 🍠🍆🥠🍘🍥
