My dad once said “Anyone with a little interest in cooking can go to a cooking school, learn and make a profession out of it. Cooking in a hotel is easy. But a real passion shows when without knowing you can cook something just by remembering how it taste.”
He said this when my mother was was out of town and I cooked chicken curry so delicious and very simple home style curry. Try it out.

Cooking time: 30-40 min

Ingredients:

1/2 kg – Chicken (with bone cut in desired sized pieces)
1 tbsp – Ginger Garlic Green chili paste (GGG paste)
1 tbsp – Garlic – Cumin paste
2-3 tbsp – Oil
3 – Potato (small size)
3 – Tomato (big)
1 – Onion (medium)
2 tsp – Red chili powder
1 tsp – Coriander powder
1/2 tsp – Turmeric powder (haldi)
Salt to taste.

Method:

Clean the chicken well. Wash it with water. Cut it in the size you want (I prefer smaller pieces). Dry it by dabbing tissue paper on it. Add GGG paste, mix well. Cover it and let it marinade for at least 1/2 hour to 1 hr.
While it is marinating do preparation of the rest. Make a paste on 8-10 garlic and 1 tsp cumin. Grind it until its a chunky paste. Remove it and keep it aside in a bowl. Roughly cut tomato, onion and one potato. Grind it well. Rest of the potato peel and cut it in 4 parts.
Now take a pot. Put oil in it. Heat it. Put garlic – cumin paste in it. Saute until the garlic is golden brown.img_20190909_194501.jpg

Add chicken in it. Mix well. Add potato and mix again. Cover and let it cook for 5 min.
Put the tomato – potato – onion puree in it. Mix well. Add dry spices (red chili powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder). Mix well. Cover and cook for 10-15 min. Mix occasionally.
Add little water about 1/2 cup (if you want thin gravy add 1 cup). Add salt and mix. Cover and cook until the chicken and potato is cooked and the chicken is tender.
Garnish with chopped coriander. Serve hot with bread / roti or rice. Enjoy!
