Sangria

Mango.marmalades: Hey what’s that you are having for lunch?
Me: Fruit salad!.
Mango.marmalades: That’s funny, it looks like sangria
Me: Huh! Weird. (Sips the fruit salad)….
Super easy to make really delicious and interesting enough to experiment on your own. Happy Sunday!

Ingredients:

750 ml – Red wine (i used pinot noir)
240 ml – Whisky (i used Vat 69 – scotch blended whisky)
1 – Orange
2 – Apple
1 – Pear
2 – Lemon
1/2 – Pomegranate
1/4 – Pineapple
2 tbsp – Honey water mixture (honey plus water in equal proportion)
6-7 – Strawberry (if available)
4-5 – Clove (optional)
1 – Cinnamon stick (optional)

Method:

Cut all fruits in rings or slices. Remove seeds. In a jar or an air tight bottle put all fruits and spice. Put honey water mixture. Pour whisky and wine. Stir it properly. Seal the jar or bottle and refrigerate it . If the wine is already chilled the sangria will be ready in 7-8 hours. If the wine is room temperature then let the jar / bottle rest for 1-2 day in fridge.

Note:

If you are going to use early harvest wine the use honey as they are dry and not very sweet. If you are using late harvest wine or dessert wine the do not use honey as they are already sweet.
If you are making sangria repetitively to enhance the flavor use previous fruit (used in sangria made before this). In a blender squeeze all citrus fruit. Put half of whisky in the blender (120 ml) and rest of whole fruits (remove spices).. Blend well. Strain twice and put this in next sangria along with fruits rest of the whisky and spice. In this taste before you add honey.
Do not use this method if you are going to keep old fruit dry after finishing the wine for more than half a day.

Happy boozing! 🍎🍍🍒🍷🥂
